We ended the year with a loss in many ways!

Well another year is coming to a close and we ended 2007 with a few loses in our lives. When my brother John passed away in November we had a huge VOID in all our lives. We miss him so much but we also understand and know he's in a much better pkace where there is no pain or suffering.

Then our Sun Devils ended the year with a loss to TEXAS? It wasn't there night because we could have beat those LONGHORNS!

We are all looking forward to a new year. Our blessings go out to everyone for a wonderful 2008!

Merry Christmas

We will be cheering on the Sun Devils from home this Thursday as they defeat the Texas longhorns in the Holiday bowl game. Our busy schedules didn't allow us to attend the game in San Diego.

We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very healthy and wonderful New Year.
Love to all,

All in the family

Here's a picture that was taken when my cousins were here for my brother John's Memorial. We are all doing as good as we can because my brother wouldn't want it any other way. His Memorial service was amazing. God's presence was felt in so many ways. Thank you for all the calls, meals, cards and especially the Prayers. John is greatly missed.
Love to all,

Liz & Jamie

Guess who!

Guess who we saw at the Suns game last night? Yes, the picture is Jenny from the Bachelor show. She was so sweet to talk to and she wouldn't and couldn't tell us if she won or not. I have a hint that she did win because she was EXTREMELY happy. She was bouncing all over the map with excitement. Come on cheering for the Suns is great but being one of the finalist on the Bachelor show is fantastic. The Suns did win against the Chicago Bulls. I was more excited to meet and watch Jenny the whole night then the game! GO SUNS!

90 minutes before game time.

Sold out crowd and our tickets were right in the middle of the UCLA fans on the 40 yard line, but we had great fans all around us even some other Sun Devils!

Where does time go?

Wow, It's been almost one month since I last posted anything on my blog. Does anybody care? Well I guess so because I have received several emails asking what happened to the blog updates!

Well here is what has happened at the Coffey household the month of October.

Yes the Empty Nestor's are surviving well. Jamie and I have found ourselves talking to each other thinking someone else is listening when neither of us were listening in on each others conversations. We find ourselves saying "what" a lot lately!

Ashley is lovin her room mates and loves the freedom I'm sure. We see her a lot and that makes the transition easier. She has been sick with a cold and it seems to be dragging her down along with a heavy schedule at ASU. She works part time for Jamie at his office. She is a huge help for him.

Andrea was diagnosed with Pneumonia last week and has been home in bed. She seems to be getting a little better and she misses her 24 little Kindergarten angels. Her students are learing and doing well. It's Fall into Learning month for her! Get it?

Chris is busy with work. He is a fantastic graphic designer if you ever need one. He just did our office logos for the remodeled office.

Jamie is busy finishing the remodeled office. If you haven't seen it yet come on by. It's nice and big.

As for me well I've been keeping busy with everything. Tuesday is Joy bible study that I decorate every week. My day starts at 7:00 am till noon. I really enjoy this ministry that God has placed me in. Joy stand for Jesus others and you!

The dogs are still in control at the house. They are absolutely beautiful, fun and very loving. Bear now weighs 89 pounds at 9 months old. Hershey is still the leader of the pack. She is the queen and knows it. Bailey (Andrea and Chris' dog) is darling and she is a squirt. She is petite like Andrea.
Well that's it at the coffeygrounds. Let us know what's up at your house.

ASU...They did it again!

What a game the Sun Devils played last night. Oregon showed up strong with a score of 19-0 in the first quarter. Then the Sun devils came thru. We were at the edge of our seats every quarter until they started to cream them in the 4th. They did it again. We are now 4-0! Go Devils. We love our new coach! The stadium is so full of energy.
Did I say Go Devils! Sorry Donna and Nathan for not mentioning the OTHER team UofA!

What a blessing to hang around Kindergartner's!

Well my two weeks I promised Andrea are up. It's been quite a challenge for me. First I had to turn into a morning person, (up by 6:00 am). Then sharpen my skills on my nursery rhymes, but I laughed at the things Kindergartners say and do. Over all it's so awesome to watch Andrea teach these little ones and fill the love she has for these kids. If you ever want to come see her class give me a call and we can stop by. It is fun a watch.
Hope everyone is enjoying there school year so far and if you are like me I'm counting the days for summer to be over with, two months to go. I always look forward to Halloween because I know the weather will be changing.

First day of Kindergarten!

Well as many of you know Andrea asked me to help in her classroom for the first couple of weeks. She has a few students that only speak spanish and I am there to help translate. Well, let me tell you I kicked myself all day for not teaching my girls spanish.

The day started like this:
I woke up at 4:30 this morning because I was so excited for the first day of school. After tossing and turning I finally saw it was 6:15 and time to get out of bed! School starts at 7:55 AM (remember I'm NOT a morning person) but we had a lot of excited kindergartners waiting for the door to open and school to start. We also had a few crying parents. ( I remember being one of those parents 18 years ago).

The day was going great until I saw it was ONLY 10:00 am. It already seemed like I had been there the whole day. My feet were buring ( I know wrong thing to admit with a foot Doctor in the house) and I was ready for a nap when the teacher (Mrs. Hylton another thing to get used to hearing the kids call her) said it's time to go play at the playground. All I could think of was the heat wave we have been having. It was going to be hot! When we returned to the room it was time to water color ( big mistake) I was covered in all the colors from head to toes, that was when it hit me ,wait... I was suppose to be the translater and just then again I wished I had taught Andrea spanish!

So off to Lunch we go and I thought okay I can sit for a while and catch my next breath, when NO we had to show the little ones how to get there food thru the cafeteria lines. After lunch was over off to the playground they go (out in the heat again) till the bell rings.

The afternoon was looking better because the kids got a chance to put their heads down on the table to rest for 10 minutes but guess what ? The tables are made for little people. They were too low for me. Again I was out of luck now the only thing to look forward to was 2:25 when the bell would ring and it would be time to go home. With still 2 hours to go the little angels started to get home sick. One child would start to cry at one table and then the next child would start. I heard it all from I want to go home too I want my Mommy.

Kindergarten is a hard life. I took a long shower when I got home followed by a long nap. It's now 9:45 pm and my eyes fill like they weigh a ton. It's going to be a LONG two weeks but it's so worth it to make a difference in one little life. It is so awesome to watch Andrea teach these little angels. I just wish they would stay sweet and innocent.
Good night to all and pray for us during our first week of Kindergarten.
Love ya,
Liz

Setting up for Kindergarten takes 80 hours we were told and we laughed. Two days later it felt like we hadn't made much progress so we called in the troops. Thank you Kira and Alicia for helping so much.

This is the coolest Apple store ever. It's four walls of clear glass with a glass elevator/stairway to an underground store. The coolest!

New York, New York

Light rain and sweat shirts on the 4th of July cruising New York doesn't get any better. Wow, the fireworks were spectacular off the Brooklyn Bridge. Something about cruising around the Statue of Liberty on the 4th of July was so American.
I know we don't look like Yankee fans and that's because we were silently cheering on the Angel's from Aniehien. Mickey Hatcher is the bench coach for the Angel's and we talked on the phone. I was to chicken to try to meet him on the field. Mickey wanted me to say I was his cousin. Somehow those New Yorkers weren't going to believe that one.
It was a fun experience at the game. I took tons of pictures of Derek Jeters and taking the SUBWAY was actually fun too. We are still alive to talk about it.

We stayed across the street from Central Park at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. What a beautiful hotel and they spoiled us rotten. Our highlights of our trip were :

Flying first class

Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel

Going to see the play WICKED ~fantastic show

Going to the top of the Empire State building

The 4th of July fireworks on the water cruise

Ground Zero ~very emotional

Going to fantastic eating places recommended by our friend Linda Leoni that used to live there. Thanks Linda

The Yankee game

Spending time with our cousins Terri. Dave, David and Darren while they were in NY too.

Riding the Subway

Going to the coolest Apple store and coming out with a iphone for my birthday.

Breakfast in our room every morning and the list goes on and on and know I'm back home to dog kisses. Those darling Chocolate labs! Gotta love them!
