Guess who?

Ashley came over tonight for dinner and her surprise gift I had for her.  She had been using a baggie filled with ice, so I had to give her this girlie ice pack.   Priceless!

Friday Night lights!

Here are the latest pictures!  Bless her heart!  She is so tired of the looks, comments and just wants her normal look back.  You go girl... taking one for the team!

Ashley loves to play softball and plays on a coed team on Friday nights.  In all the years she has played ball {since she was 9} she never had a ball hit her in the face.  Well, Friday night she took one for the team!  I guess this is nothing compared to what it looks like now, but she hasn't sent me an updated picture. Of coures she came home to daddy's medical rescue and enjoyed a yummyNielson's Chocolate/Chocolate Chip Concrete!

More of Daddy's Girls!

Where does time go? This picture made me realize that life is going as fast as a heart beat anymore! Andrea & Chris will be married almost 2 years this coming November. Wow, I was going crazy this time in 06 with all the planning! Now my life is so calm, slow and still continues to be blessed!
I have the best daughters, son-in-law and Hubby! Ashley just moved into a new apartment with two other girlfriends. She is attending ASU and majoring in Non-Profit. Her dream is to have her own someday! She plays coed softball on Friday nights and enjoys it. She is a group leader for a high school girls bible study, and keeps very busy between school, church, friends and family. She enjoys life and is still a daddy's girl 100%!
Our house guest, Andrea and Chris are living with us for a short while { well maybe longer than they thought}. They are looking for a place to rent that will allow them to have Bailey {their dog} too. The hunt has become harder to find because of that precious Chocolate Lab. She is a great dog and won't take up much space!
The love of my life shopping, I meant Jamie... is keeping busy saving soles! His practice is doing well. Thanks to friends and family that are loyal patients we appreciate your buisness. The way the economy is changing every week it's always a wonder and a worry! Thanks for your support in allowing him to be your sole saver!
As for me, well I am in my SLOWING down season. I'm home more, enjoying catching up with movies and books I haven't finished or seen in a long time! Yes, I still love to go do things but slowing down is a great thing too. Something I had to learn to do. I guess it's just age catching up with me and not to mention weight! That's another blog post!
Jamie and I are going to San Diego for a long weekend soon and the end of October I'll be spending a week in the bay area visiting family.
The life of three chocolate Labs is great. They are loved, feed, walked, bathed, brushed, and very spoiled! Huh, kinda sounds like my life.. oops don't tell!
Thank you for being a part of our lives and we thank Jesus for all our blessings.

Thanks for all your support

This is the last post:{ on our tribute to Chanico.  Thank you for all your prayers, calls, emails, encouraging words shared during this very difficult time in the lives of many that loved him.  The sharing of scriptures really made a difference in many lives. I have the best friends!
Love you all,
The Coffey Grounds

P.S. This is a picture of chanico as Santa.  He would not be happy with me probably for posting this one.

Spirit in the Sky!

Alana has a tattoo in memory of her Father.  The song "Spirit In The Sky" was played at Chanico's service and will be in our hearts every time we hear it.   It's a song that we will always remember him by.  We will never forget the love he placed and left in our hearts.

The trial is almost over. I plan to attend the sentencing the end of October for closure for myself.  But like many have said it's only closure of this bruetal day.   He will never leave our hearts.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
The years we've shared have been full of joy.
The memories we've made will go on and on.
We haven't stopped crying since you went away,
and we've asked God time and time why couldn't you stay.
You lit up our life, our hopes, and our dreams.
You've opened our eyes to see what it all means.
So now that you're gone how can we forget;
Because you were the greatest, a legacy we will never forget.

A Poem written for my Uncle Love, Tanya

This poem was written by Tanya for her Uncle Chanico. Thank you Tanya for sharing this poem with me to post on the blog.
Love ya
Tio Chanico it’s really hard for me to say goodbye
Tio Chanico the thought of you not around makes me cry
Tio Chanico it hurts so bad I don’t know how to feel
Tio Chanico your not around,I can’t believe that this is real
Tio Chanico I really miss you so much
Tio Chanico I look around and see how many hearts you did touch
Tio Chanico as I, family, and friends are all sad and cry for you
Tio Chancio please guide us as this is hard for us to go through

Tio Chanico I’m sorry to be selfish as I still want to see your face
Tio Chanico I have to realize that now heaven is your place
Sometimes in life things happen that we don’t understand
So I ask you GOD please take care of my Tio Chanico,
he is a wonderful man.

Our Chanico

Chanico and his son Vincent

To many you were more than just Chanico,
You were truly a great person.
Someone we could pour our thoughts to
knowing you'll cherish them to the end.

You made us laugh,
when we wanted to cry.
You made us stronger,
when we felt so weak we could die.

Whenever we were upset we knew you were
there with a shoulder to cry on.
Whenever we faced a problem and need some help
We knew you were the one we could rely on.

You've always made us happy,
We hope you could truly see.
Your'e more than just Chanico,
You're were also a great Son, Husband, Father,
Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and Friend to us.

Until we meet again , May God
hold you in the palm of His hands.
We miss our Chanico.

The verdict is in!

I know I wanted to keep this tribute to Chanico (Frank) full of memories we've shared with him but I have to share with you the news the family received today.

The verdict was handed down this afternoon.  The murderer was found guilty of first degree murder with an enhancement for the weapon he chose.  He was also found guilty for battery with serious bodily injury for his attack of another man December of 2005, two months before the murder. Sentencing will take place on October 24th at 9:00 am.  First degree murder carries 25 years to life.  The weapon will add another year or two.  The December beating will add an additional 4-7 years.

The jury was a group of outstanding people the family will never forget.  When polled, they all sounded confident in their decision(s).  Once it was over, many openly wept.  Many hugged family members that were in attendance and spoke to them expressing how sorry they felt for there loss.  They knew they did the right thing and expressed as much.  Aunt Luz ( Chanico's mom) thanked them all for defending her son.  That was a pretty intense moment.

Thanks for all the love and support along the way.  I wanted to let you know right away.

Love all the family
