A Memory I'll Cherish

This memory is from Chanico' sister Lola.  She is the first one on the right of this picture.
{ Notice the hat he is wearing}!  Go Sun Devils!

I have an entire lifetime of memories and I could go on for days.  One memory that stood out as I  thought about it was when I was in elementary school.  There was a girl in the grade ahead of me who bullied me a bit.  One day, she cut in front of me in the line for a drink of water after recess.  I pointed that out to her {the fact that she had cut in from of me}.  She proceeded to cut anyway and I did not push the issue.

The only person I told about this was Chanico.  I knew he would help me.  Well, his way of helping me was to put boxing gloves on me and proceed to show me some boxing moves in case she kept bothering me!  He made me feel strong and confident in this act of brotherly love.
She didn't bother me again for whatever reason.  If she had, I was ready to try out the moves Chanico taught me.

Over the years, he helped me feel safe.  he was protective of me and taught me how to stick up for myself.  I know that he is still looking out and protecting me.
He continues to be my protector and hero.

Love,
Lola { Chanico's sister}.

Tribute to Chanico~When you were small

I often think of you when you were small.

You left your fingerprints on almost every wall.
Back when you were growing up they were such happy years.
How you would smile and make up games I remember through my tears
Some day we will be together in heaven up above.
But for now I send you all my love.

SPIRIT IN THE SKY

This is a tribute to my cousin Frank Garcia. Many of us knew him by {Chanico}.
I'm going to share stories about him and all the wonderful things he did until the trial is over. If you didn't know, Frank was killed Feb. of 2006.

Chanico was the most loving and outgoing guy. He always loved to tease me about anything and everything. Even though there were many miles between us {he lived in Mt. View & San Jose and of course I lived in Arizona all my life} we always picked up right where we left off.

The most treasured memories I have of Chanico is that he loved to make everyone laugh. He did everything whole hearted and with so much joy. He was the thread that kept a lot of things together. Anywhere from families, friendships, furniture, hobbies, sports, cars, and much more. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, thoughtful son, caring brother, funniest cousin and the best friend you could ever want.

If you have a story to share please email me or leave a comment on this blog. We'd love to hear your memories!

Ashley "LOVES" softball!

NO MOM NOT THE CAMERA!

Last night Ashley invited us to go watch her play softball.  The game started at 10:00 PM... Yes, you read that right!  We drove to "Field of Dreams" on Elloit just west of Power Rd.  Wow, what a neat place to play ball.  Here are some pictures I took of her and Halley {also her roomie and chearleader}. The lefty still has it! Way to play Ashley.
